Electro-Acupuncture according to Dr. Voll (EAV) is also known as Electro-Dermal Screening or Organ Stress Assessment.
The testing is done on the Biomeridian MSA equipment and is based on acupuncture.
According to European medical research, acupuncture points are related to the body's organs and organ systems. Major groups of points connected through channels, or meridians begin or end on the hands and feet. The condition of any particular organ or system can be measured on these points.
If stress values are above or below equilibrium, the system's extensive computer database will allow consideration of a wide range of possibilities that might help the client regain a healthy balance.
This computerized bioenergetic health testing system allows us to accurately conduct a comprehensive evaluation of a person's present energetic health and balance.
It is a painless and non-evasive (needle-free) test, using acupuncture points on the hands and feet. It's also a fantastic method for testing children.

What happens during testing? Testing simply involves sitting in a chair and holding a brass rod connected to a test instrument, in one hand. The practitioner will gently press a small probe onto specific points (known as acupuncture points) on the hands and feet. The test unit records the body's response at each point. You only feel the sensation of the probe being applied to your skin.
How long does this take? It will take between one and two hours depending on the screening.
Will I need to remove any clothing? Testing is done on hands and feet, therefore you will be asked to remove only your shoes and socks or stockings for the test.
Do I need to bring anything to my appointment? Please bring in any vitamins, supplements, protein powders, baby formulas or medications that you are currently taking.
Do I need to give blood? NO. Testing is non-invasive (no needles). The test is carried out by gently applying a probe to test points on your hands and feet - this is all that is involved.
What do the results tell me? The results can indicate nutrient deficiencies, hormone imbalances, organ imbalances, food intolerances or toxins present. The therapist will explain the results and make treatment recommendations.
How often will I need to be screened? Usually it is recommended every two or three months depending on the results. For general health it is recommended to repeat the test every six to twelve months.
Do I need to be ill in order to benefit from health screening? No. By monitoring your health status any weakness can be found and acted upon before symptoms appear. We use a holistic approach and believe the body heals itself. By ensuring your nutrient levels are balanced and you are avoiding intolerant foods, the body has the best chance of maintaining and promoting health, fitness and well-being.
Is it age dependant? Any one of any age can be screened. We have worked with everyone from young weaned babies to people over 90 years.
If I have bad arthritis or eczema in my hands can I still be screened? If your hands or feet cannot be probed successfully for any reason a third person, known as a surrogate, can be used. Whatever your condition we will be able to get readings and results.
Is there anything I need to do before my screening? All we ask is that you refrain from wearing magnets or applying oils and lotions on your hands and feet on the day of your screening. These can reduce the sensitivity of the instrument. Otherwise there are no special requirements.
Is it scientifically proven? The original concepts of Electro Dermal Screening (EDS) was developed in the 1950's. Since then numerous technical studies, tests and research papers have been produced, verifying the effectiveness of the process. There are many papers on the complex physics and electrical equivalents of EDS.
Will it show my allergies? An allergy is a fast acting immune system reaction to very specific foods and tends to cause rapid, severe symptoms. These can only be reliably detected trough a prick or RAST test and not through this type of testing.
The results from the testing clearly identify any foods that should be avoided for the time being. These are known as food intolerances and are basically substances the body would prefer not to have at the moment. By eating these foods the body's energy is directed to 'neutralizing' them rather than digesting them and this can tend to lead to long-term health problems. People are often unaware of their food intolerances as the symptoms are very mild (initially at least) and happen quite some time after eating. It's our experience that addressing food intolerances is a very important part of dealing with a wide range of health issues - anything from Irritable bowel to fatigue, migraine to hyperactivity.
